This ad, produced by state marketing staff and paid for by the Tenn. Dept. of Agriculture, reached 40,000 buyers in the specialty foods industry. The participants were included on our Web site, and given the chance to join the Tennessee Pavilion at a fraction of the cost to other businesses during the national trade show this trade publication promoted.
What is the Logo Program?
Pick Tennessee Products (PTP) is the ongoing marketing campaign of your state's agriculture department -- a campaign to help consumers identify and choose Tennessee produced and processed agricultural products, and to put buyers and sellers together. State marketing specialists travel across Tennessee, the nation, and internationally to learn more about new markets and marketing techniques, to share Tennessee products with buyers and to share good leads with YOU.
We want to help you learn about trade shows that reach your target groups. We often make arrangements for and help share the cost to important trade show events and trade missions. We can notify you when funds become available for businesses interested in exporting--and we'll help you get the forms you need to apply for those funds. We have creative staff to help you incorporate PTP into your marketing strategies--staff who produce professional quality national ads featuring your products in trade publications and specialty magazines.
When you join "Pick Tennessee Products," you'll be included in our Web site directory and in all our consumer and buyer directories appropriate for your product.
The "Pick Tennessee Products" logo is already on the road. Think of it as your own traveling billboard. The "Ag Tag" is one of Tennessee's most popular specialty license plates, symbolizing Tennessee's agriculture and bringing the PTP logo into public view. Funds generated by the sales of this tag support agricultural youth organizations, agricultural and forestry awareness, education--and marketing programs.
We know your own logo is important to your customers and to you. We know you put money, time, and a lot of heart into the packaging of your product. There's no replacing the image you've created for your product. But consider incorporating the PTP logo in some way, in some place in your packaging, in advertisements and on your label. You'll help consumers and retailers identify your product as a high quality Tennessee product. Guidelines for use of the Pick Tennessee Products Logo
Products bearing the PTP logo must be high quality agricultural products produced or processed in Tennessee. Changes in logo composition or colors must be approved by the marketing division. All products bearing the logo must meet or exceed U.S. government and/or State of Tennessee standards where applicable. The right to use the logo is personal only to the applicant and cannot be reassigned without approval of the TDA Market Development Division. Permission to use the logo may be revoked at any time. The State of Tennessee is in no way liable for, nor does the state guarantee, products using the logo.
