Additional Information: Hi! My name is Amanda, and my family owns Altruda's Italian Restaurant in Knoxville (125 N Peters Rd). They opened the restaurant in 1988 before I was even born and the restaurant has been a Knoxville staple ever since. I grew up working in the restaurant with my siblings and then went off to college and moved to Atlanta for 10 years working in supply chain management. Something was still missing in my life, and after some deep soul searching and traveling, I realized it was the feeling that I had when I with with my family at the restaurant, and the food and comfort that it provided me. I moved back to Knoxville to help my family with the business as my parents are getting older, and possibly looking to retire in the near future. I do not know what the future holds for our restaurant, but I do know one thing, I wanted to carry a piece of the restaurant on for many generations to come. I am now manufacturing our house Italian Dressing and Marinade at Real Good Kitchen in downtown Knoxville. Right now we are selling only at Altruda's, however I want the rest of the state (and country!) to know our story and taste our delicious dressing. If you know Altruda's, you know we are famous for our house salad and garlic rolls. As mentioned, my goal is to provide and honor this delicious dressing long after my parents retirement and even if we were to close our doors for all to feel the same comfort that it has brought me over the last 33 years.
