The passion for handcrafted, premium bbq sauce was birthed from a combination of healing after service and time spent in Afghanistan and a love of the outdoors. After being separated, I like many others, had a difficult go of making sense of next steps and what life would look like if I weren't in uniform. While transitioning from the military, doctors recommended I find a hobby that would get me out of the house, find peace or around like minded people.
After medical professionals noticed symptoms related to my injuries improved when I talked about some things. So, I joined a beer brewing club. In this group I found some of the same camaraderie experienced in the Army. I liked the idea of taking ingredients and turning nothing into something.
I was drawn to things I could taste, smell and work on with his hands. When the club had a sauce making contest, I thought this should be fun, why not? I won the contest, and a business was born!
Folks loved the flavor and ingredients, and what was one
sauce has now grown to four. Sweet-N-Spicy, Ghost Pepper, Scotch Bonnet and Beard Scorcher. They can be found in many clarksville businesses in and around TN and across the US as well as Scheels Sporting Goods. That was four years ago. What started as a man going out in a limb for
healing, has turned into a thriving business. One based on quality and camaraderie. Healing and good times.
Another perk of running this business are the lives touched through working with non-profits. In the past, We've helped raise money for Green Beret Foundation, Warriors Never Give Up, The Fallen Outdoors, and Veteran's For Child Rescue.
