Additional Information: When we started beekeeping a few years ago in search of super duper local honey to help with my daughter's allergies, I saw my in-town (we are right around the corner from Belle Meade Plantation, about a mile down the road from Cheekwood) front yard tomatoes explode! The next year I added tomatillos and blueberries along with the usual culinary and medicinal herbs and the bees just kept it all going. Everything we grow is from organic seeds from Baker Creek and Territorial Seed Companies. All our pest management is natural and we don't ever spray chemicals on our plants or animals. Four years ago we had more tomatoes than anyone could eat, so I started canning tomato jam. That and our raw locally produced backyard honey are out most asked-for products, but throughout the seasons we have flowers, herbs, cucumbers, tomatillos (and salsa!), and blackberries, blueberries, and peppers. We grow enough to share with the chipmunks, bunnies, birds, and my hound dog Reba who has been known to chow down on cucumbers and blackberries right off the bush.
