Additional Information: BlizzardMinesFarmCo started out with the idea of transparency. Many consumers today seek transparency in sourcing and production. Here at our farm, we try to always provide clear information about our products, how they are made, the ingredients used, and how to use the product so that we can build trust with the customers. At BlizzardMinesFarmCo, we take great pride in our Appalachian culture and the rich history of herbal medicine and crafting. We try to highlight this heritage and create a narrative that resonates with consumers who value storytelling in the products they buy. Each product is named after a landmark from our area or an Appalachian word that we still use here. From Walker's Wampus Butt Butter to Chick-a-Bee Dandelion Face Oil, we want culture to be shared all over the United States and abroad. We also keep our community connections close to heart. We appreciate the consumers who support local farmers! Just as our local community supports us, we try to also shop local, buy from artisans, source out local craftsmen and trades people. It is important to support the local economies and to help homegrown folks out! Not only does BlizzardMinesFarmCo believe in traditional and sustainable farming practices, we promote stewardship, sustainability, and conservation. We take what we need and we always leave what we can, replant, reseed, or replace. Foraging is part of our business. We forage many things on the farm for oils, salves, balms, tinctures, and teas. Education of plants and seasons are a key in harvesting and drying. Foraging at the right times for these plants and herbs create health benefits for the consumer and for conservation of the plants as well. BlizzardMinesFarmCo not only forages plants and herbs for our products, but we also raise cattle on Blizzard Mines Farm and use the kidney fat for our skincare line. The kidney fat is rendered into tallow here at the farm in a meticulous process. After the fat is rendered to tallow, the tallow is then whipped into moisturizers, infused with herbs or oils, or made into salves or balms. All items sold in our skincare and herbal care lines are handcrafted on our farm with our own products. Consumers can have peace of mind knowing that what they put on their skin or the herbs they use are safe and natural and that they are supporting a local Tennessee farm family!
